When the compression finishes, the download appears on this page. Your compressed file is kept for 2 hours, then deleted.

About PNG

the lossless image format of screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges

PNG stores images losslessly with DEFLATE compression: every pixel survives exactly. It is the format of screenshots, logos, diagrams and anything with text or sharp edges, and it carries a full alpha channel.

PNG is large where photographs are concerned: lossless compression must describe every pixel's exact value, so a photo that occupies 3 MB as a JPEG can need 10 MB or more as a PNG.

What compressing PNG does

Compressing a PNG re-encodes it to a modern format: WebP and AVIF have lossless modes that beat DEFLATE, and their lossy modes shrink photographic PNGs dramatically.

A 10 MB photographic PNG commonly becomes a 2–3 MB lossy WebP at visually matched quality, or a somewhat larger lossless WebP that still keeps every pixel.

Settings you can change

Before you compress PNG, you can adjust: Width, Height, Scale fit, Crop position, Never enlarge, Quality, Lossless, Progressive, Remove metadata, Auto-orient from EXIF, Rotate, and Background.

Limits

Guests can compress files up to 100 megabytes and run 5 conversions per day; a free account raises this to 500 megabytes and 25 per day; paid plans go up to 100 gigabytes.

Your compressed PNG file is kept for 2 hours, then deleted.

Compressing PNG: questions and answers

Will compressing PNG reduce quality?

Graphics convert lossless to lossless: logos and screenshots stay pixel-exact in lossless WebP. Photographic PNGs can drop into lossy encodings with no visible difference.

Can PNG files be compressed without any loss?

Yes. PNG is lossless, and WebP and JPEG XL both offer lossless modes that typically beat PNG's own compression by a fifth to a third.

Which settings can I change when compressing PNG?

You can adjust: Width, Height, Scale fit, Crop position, Never enlarge, Quality, Lossless, Progressive, Remove metadata, Auto-orient from EXIF, Rotate, and Background. the quality slider only bites in the lossy modes — a lossless WebP target ignores it, so graphics keep their exact pixels regardless

How much smaller will my PNG file get?

Graphics usually gain 20–40% in a lossless WebP; photographic PNG content gains far more once a lossy encoding is acceptable.

How large a PNG file can I compress for free?

Guests can compress files up to 100 megabytes and run 5 conversions per day; a free account raises this to 500 megabytes and 25 per day; paid plans go up to 100 gigabytes. Your compressed file is kept for 2 hours, then deleted.
