Terms of Service — Fair Use & Your Rights

Acceptance of these terms

By using NexMedia — converting a file as a guest, creating an account, or calling the API — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Acceptable use

NexMedia is provided for converting files you have the right to convert. You agree not to upload content that is unlawful or that the service cannot legally process, and not to use the service to distribute malware or to attack the service, its workers or other users.

Usage limits

Every tier has limits on file size, conversions per day, job duration, output resolution and concurrent jobs. Guests can convert up to 5 files per day with a size of up to 100 MB each; free accounts can convert up to 25 files per day with a size of up to 500 MB each. Paid tiers raise these ceilings substantially — the current numbers for every tier are published on the pricing page.

Content you upload

You keep all rights to the files you upload. You grant us only the limited, temporary right to process them for the conversion you requested — nothing else, and nothing after the job finishes. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you upload.

Credits, packages and subscriptions

Conversions are metered in credits. Failed conversions are never charged. Package credits never expire; subscription credits are valid only for the period they were granted in and do not roll over. Purchases are handled by Stripe, and tax is calculated from your billing address before you pay. You can cancel a subscription from your account at any time; cancellation stops future charges.

If you believe a payment is wrong, contact support.

Refunds

Your first payment is covered by a two-week money-back guarantee, once per account: if the service is not for you, contact support within two weeks of that first payment and we will refund it in full. Conversions that fail are never charged, so there is nothing to refund for them. After the first payment, credit package purchases and subscription periods that have already started are final, and cancellation stops future charges as described above — but if you believe a later payment is wrong (a billing error or a duplicate charge), contact support and we review it and refund it where confirmed.

Fair use

Each account gets a concurrency and credit allowance. Using the service within its published limits is always fine; circumventing limits, reselling bulk capacity without an agreement, or otherwise abusing the service may get the account suspended.

Intellectual property

The NexMedia service itself — the site, the API and the underlying software — remains the property of its operators. Except for the temporary processing right above, nothing in these terms transfers any rights in either direction.

Availability

We work to keep the service available, but it is offered without an uptime commitment.

Disclaimer of warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. Conversions can fail or produce unexpected output; that is why failed conversions are never charged.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NexMedia is not liable for data loss or damages arising from use of the service. Because uploads and converted files are deleted automatically, keep your own copy of any file you cannot afford to lose.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the updated version is published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
