Common questions about MOBI
Why won't Amazon accept my MOBI file for the Kindle anymore? Amazon retired the old MOBI format for personal documents, and modern Kindles expect EPUB or AZW3 instead — converting keeps the book readable.
Why convert an ebook to MOBI? For very old Kindles that predate EPUB support; anything modern reads EPUB or AZW3.
